Sporting Gun

Sporting Gun of Roderick Donald Matheson Chisholm






This sporting gun with initials R.D.M.C.

The stock of the gun has a silver plate inlaid and engraved with the Chisholm Boars Head impaled with dagger and the feros ferio motto.
The handsome leather case contains all the accessories needed for using the gun and is in excellent condition.


Roderick Donald Matheson Chisholm (1861-1886) was the 28th chief of Clan Chisholm, son of James Sutherland Chisholm who succeeded to the Erchless Estates in 1858 whilst living in Canada.
In 1883, when Roderick came of age, he and his father disentailed the estates.

The gun's last known location was with a collector in England.
